In my few years of life, I’ve learned how to pray for others, from those near and dear to me to those that hate my guts, and I’m sure others do the same for me. However, nothing is as powerful as HEARING someone pray for your well being.
Last year, I moved to Massachusetts to live with my boyfriend of 6 years (a few weeks later he proposed, and now we are married), and i remember how he changed the way I/we prayed. The first time he prayed for my well being and safety, I was please tyke surprised and it made me feel very important to him. It makes you feel good to know that someone thinks of you enough to pray for them, with them, out loud. To this day, we still do this but I am challenging myself to make a conscious effort to do this with other family members and friends.
Key concept: Pray not only for those you love when you pray alone, but also take their hand, call them up, or even text them a personalized prayer. It will work wonders on their life and yours. <3
Bible Verses on praying for others (KJV):
Job 42:10 – And the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before.
James 5:16 – Confess [your] faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
